Curriculumn and Assessment of Trainers
The Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) is the central body in providing and developing the curriculum and assessment of trainees in endocrinology and diabetes. The eportfolio now plays a pivotal role in the assessment of trainees’ progression throughout the 5-year programme. It enables trainees to maintain an up-to-date record of courses attended, qualifications obtained, assessments completed, curricula competencies attained, reflective practice, as well as a section for educational supervisor input. Trainees are expected to use the eportfolio as their core method for learning and in providing evidence of progression throughout the five years training. The eportfolios can be accessed at:

Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP) is a formal review of how well a trainee is progressing in relation to their learning agreement. This takes place each autumn in Wales.
